Matagorda County, Texas

Matagorda County is where the Colorado River meets the Gulf of Mexico. It’s a place of contrasts. You’ve got miles of sandy beaches on one side and fertile farmland on the other. Bay City, the county seat, is right in the middle of it all.
This county has history. It was one of the original Texas counties. Fishing is huge here. You can’t miss the giant dome of the South Texas Nuclear Project. It’s a landmark around these parts.
