Craig County, Oklahoma

Craig County is in northeastern Oklahoma, bordering Kansas. Vinita, the county seat, is known as America’s first “Electric City”. They had electricity before New York or Chicago. How’s that for a fun fact?
Vinita Lake Park has some prime fishing spots. You’ll see a lot of cattle ranches around here. It’s cowboy country, for sure. But there’s more to Craig County than just cows.
The Eastern Trails Museum in Vinita offers a peek into the area’s past. Nature lovers will enjoy hiking here. The county’s got a strong Native American presence, with many Cherokee citizens calling it home.
