Greene County is perched on the eastern edge of the Catskill Mountains in southeastern New York. Hunter Mountain is one of the region’s premier ski resorts, located in the county. Skiers and hikers come here for top-notch fun.

The county is named after Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene. You’ll find some of the most scenic stretches of the Hudson River here. The Thomas Cole National Historic Site celebrates the father of the Hudson River School of painting.

Adventure seekers love New York Zipline Adventures, the longest and highest zipline canopy tour in North America. It’s nearly 600 feet above the ground. The county has a rich tradition of fly fishing with Catskill being the county seat.
