Hancock County, Indiana

Hancock Location Map Indiana

Located just east of Indianapolis, Hancock County is where suburban sprawl meets rural charm. You’ll find a mix of cookie-cutter subdivisions and century-old farmhouses here.

Greenfield is the county seat here. It’s best known for being the birthplace of poet James Whitcomb Riley. Downtown Greenfield celebrates his legacy each year with the popular Riley Festival.

The Pennsy Trail, built on an old railroad line, is popular with cyclists and joggers. Mt. Comfort Airport brings in some business traffic. Hancock County is growing fast, but it’s trying to hold onto its rural roots.
