Brown County, Indiana
Brown County is Indiana’s fall color capital. It’s in the south-central part of the state, about an hour from Indianapolis.
The county’s rolling hills and dense forests make it a favorite for everyone. Nashville is the county seat. Brown County State Park brings in hikers and campers year-round. It’s Indiana’s largest state park.
The area was settled by pioneers in the early 1800s, but it was pretty isolated back then. Its rugged terrain and dense forests made travel difficult, keeping it cut off from larger towns for years.
