Hancock County is located in north-central Iowa and is shaped as almost a perfect square. It’s anchored by the town of Garner, its county seat.
This rural county is known for its strong agricultural roots. Grains, oilseeds, livestock… You can find it all here. U.S. Highway 18 and 69 run through the county, providing access to its farms.
But it’s not all about agriculture here. Pilot Knob State Park, known for its scenic trails and historic observation tower. It’s a favorite spot for most travelers. There’s also Eagle Lake State Wildlife Management Area, which is an important stopover for migratory birds.
