Itasca County, Minnesota

Itasca County is up in northern Minnesota, where the forests seem endless and the lakes are around every bend. Grand Rapids is the biggest town, but don’t expect skyscrapers. It’s more like a glorified logging camp with some really good restaurants.
Fishing is religion in these parts with walleye, northern pike, and other types of fish. The Mesabi Iron Range cuts through the county, leaving behind some epic off-road trails for ATVs and snowmobiles.
The Edge of the Wilderness Scenic Byway is a must-drive. Locals swear by the blueberry picking in mid-summer. Just watch out for bears. They love ’em too.
