Jackson County, Minnesota

Jackson Location Map Minnesota

Jackson County sits way down in southwestern Minnesota, right on the Iowa border. It’s farm country here. The town of Jackson is the county seat, a place where everybody knows everybody.

The Des Moines River winds through the county. Colors pop in Kilen Woods State Park, especially in fall. Winters are brutal out here on the prairie, but folks make the most of it.

If you ask me, their county fair is one of the best in the state. Heron Lake is the spot for bird watching. It’s a major stopover for migrating waterfowl.
