Jasper County, Missouri

Jasper County is located in the southwest, neighboring the state of Kansas. Carthage is the county seat here and it boasts some pretty impressive architecture. Outdoor lovers flock to the parks and lakes.
Joplin is Jasper County’s claim to fame. It all starts at the Joplin Museum Complex, which has exhibits on both mining and robbers Bonnie and Clyde.
In fact, the area’s history is tied to lead and zinc mining, leaving behind a legacy you can still see today. But it’s not all about the past. The people here are resilient, having rebuilt after a devastating tornado in 2011.
