Kaufman County, Texas

Kaufman Location Map Texas

Kaufman County is located east of Dallas. It’s where the Blackland Prairie gives way to Post Oak Savannah. The county is growing fast, but still holds onto its rural roots. Terrell has the county’s only Buc-ee’s. That’s a big deal around here.

The county has a bit of everything. Urban, suburban, rural. That’s right, take your pick. It was once cotton country. Now it’s more about bedroom communities and distribution centers. But you can still find working farms and ranches.

Kaufman, the county seat, has a picturesque town square. It’s like stepping back in time. Cedar Creek Reservoir is a popular spot for fishing and boating. It’s a place in transition, but it hasn’t forgotten where it came from.
