King George County, Virginia

King George County occupies a scenic piece of northeastern Virginia. It’s perched on the Potomac River. It’s known as the “Gateway to the Historic Northern Neck”. The county is growing, but it still has a rural feel.
The county has deep roots. It was named after King George I of England. These days, it’s home to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. That brings a lot of high-tech jobs to the area.
But King George isn’t all about defense work. There’s plenty of history to explore. Caledon State Park is a favorite spot for nature lovers. It’s one of the best places on the East Coast to see bald eagles. Locals enjoy small-town life with easy access to bigger cities like Fredericksburg and Washington, D.C.
