Lewis County, Washington

Lewis County sits right in the middle of western Washington. The county was an early logging center. You can still see giant stumps in some places. But there’s new growth too, both in the forests and the towns.
Centralia and Chehalis are the biggest cities. They’ve got a small-town feel with some big-city amenities. Farms are common. It’s the kind of place where you might get stuck behind a tractor on the road. Most folks don’t mind the slowdown though.
Mount Rainier looms to the northeast. On clear days, it’s quite a sight. The county is named after Meriwether Lewis of Lewis and Clark fame. Adventure is still a big draw of this county though. Hiking, fishing, and hunting are popular.
