The county has diverse landscapes, from desert to mountains. Saguaro National Park is famous for its giant cacti. Just like the rest of Arizona, summers are very hot, winters mild.

The area has a rich Native American and Spanish colonial history. Tourism and the university are big parts of the economy. Davis-Monthan Air Force Base is also important. The county faces challenges like urban growth. Despite this, it’s one of the top counties in the state.
