Yuma County is in southwest Arizona, bordering California and Mexico. About 200,000 people live here. Yuma is the county seat and largest city. The Colorado River forms the western border.

It’s known as the sunniest place on Earth. That’s right. It has over 11 hours of sunlight in winters and 13 hours in winters. This means agriculture is big, especially winter vegetables. 

Tourism increases in winter with visitors escaping cold climates. The area has a rich history, including the Territorial Prison. The county also has several military installations.
