Putnam County, West Virginia

Putnam County is located between the state capital of Charleston and the college town of Huntington. You get the best of both worlds here. The Kanawha River flows through the center of the county, providing plenty of opportunities for boating and fishing.
But it’s not all about the water. The county has seen steady growth, with new neighborhoods popping up. Still, you don’t have to go far to find a farmer’s market or a country road.
Hurricane is the largest town, despite its scary name. It’s actually pretty peaceful. The Putnam County Fair is a big deal around here. Old-timers and newcomers mix easily in this friendly place. It’s West Virginia in transition, but it hasn’t forgotten its roots.
