Spotsylvania County, Virginia

Spotsylvania County is right in the middle of Virginia, about halfway between Washington D.C. and Richmond. The county has seen its fair share of action. Four major Civil War battles were fought here.
But don’t think it’s stuck in the past. Spotsylvania is growing fast, with new neighborhoods popping up all over. The county seat, Spotsylvania Courthouse, is tiny but packed with history. You can’t miss the cannons on the courthouse lawn.
Lake Anna is a big draw, perfect for boating and fishing. There’s plenty of shopping and dining options in the more built-up areas. And if you’re into wine, you’re in luck. There are several vineyards in the county. It’s a place that manages to keep one foot in the past and one in the future.
