Hanover County, Virginia

Hanover County sits just north of Richmond in central Virginia. It’s where history and modernity collide. Patrick Henry, the fiery revolutionary orator, was born here. You can still visit his law office.
The county played a big role in the Civil War too. These days, Hanover is known for its excellent schools and growing suburbs. Kings Dominion is a massive theme park here.

Several major roads cross through Hanover. Interstate 95 runs straight down the middle, cutting a clear path toward Richmond. Traffic picks up near Ashland, but it thins out farther north.

Hanover’s borders are slightly uneven with mostly rivers forming its boundaries. The Chickahominy River marks the southeastern edge. Whereas the Pamunkey River forms part of the northern border.
