Roads here bend with the land. You won’t find many straight shots. I-81 cuts clean through the county, offering a fast route from Virginia into Tennessee. Then, there’s I-26 that crisscrosses in the south. But beyond that, most highways curve around ridges and lakes.

The twin cities (Bristol and Kingsport) show up quick on the map, with light gray clusters and branching roads. But forests fill the gaps. Lakes and rivers stand out in the northeast, especially where South Holston Lake twists into coves. Fields appear, but they’re scattered between trees and hills.
