US Counties

Niagara County is home to one of the world’s most famous natural wonders, Niagara Falls. It’s situated in western New York, bordering Canada.

Oneida County lies in the heart of New York State in the central region. This county is home to the first cheese factory in America.

Syracuse is the beating heart of Onondaga County. This central New York county sits roughly halfway between Albany and Buffalo.

Finger Lakes country is basically Ontario County. It’s in western New York, south of Rochester. Canandaigua and Geneva are its two cities.

Orange County sits in the lower Hudson Valley. It’s just an hour north of New York City, but feels a world away.

Orleans County is located in western New York, sitting right on Lake Ontario’s southern shore. This place is all about apples.

Oswego County is in north-central New York along Lake Ontario. This area is known for its waterfront, small towns, and outdoor activities.

The rolling hills of central New York hide Otsego County. It’s where you’ll find Cooperstown, home of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Putnam County sits an hour north of New York City in the Hudson Valley region. It’s where you can escape city life without going too far.

Queens is right next to Manhattan, sitting on the western end of Long Island. It’s New York City’s biggest borough by land area.

Rensselaer County is just east of Albany, on the east side of the Hudson River. Troy is the county seat, located in the west of the county.

Staten Island. That’s right, it’s a whole county. It’s the southernmost part of New York State, separated from Manhattan by the Upper Bay.

Rockland County lies just north of NYC, a quick trip up the Hudson. You’ve got the Hudson River on one side, mountains on the other.

Saratoga County is in eastern New York, just north of Albany. This place is a mix of history and horses. Saratoga Springs is a highlight here.

Schenectady County is in the middle of New York’s Capital Region. It has a mix of urban and rural areas. General Electric started right here.
