Warren County sits just south of Des Moines and has a mix of suburban living and rural charm. With about 55,000 residents, Warren County is growing fast.
Indianola is the county seat and is situated in the center of the county. It is famous for the National Balloon Classic, a colorful hot air balloon festival held each July.
The county is named after General Joseph Warren, a Revolutionary War hero. Carlisle, on the county’s northern edge, is the southern terminus of the popular High Trestle Trail.
