Wilkin County, Minnesota

Located in west-central Minnesota, Wilkin County is a place where the prairie meets the Red River Valley. It’s not big. But what it lacks in size, it makes up for in character.
Farmers here work the land, growing sugar beets, soybeans, and wheat. Breckenridge, the county seat, sits right on the border with North Dakota. You can literally walk across the bridge to Wahpeton and be in another state.
The county’s history goes back to the 1800s, with fur traders and early settlers leaving their mark. Nowadays, you’ll find a mix of small-town charm and rural grit. Also, try to enjoy fishing in the Otter Tail and Bois de Sioux rivers.
