Clay County, Minnesota

Clay County sits in the northwest corner of Minnesota, right along the North Dakota border. It’s home to Moorhead, the largest city in the area. The county was named after Henry Clay, a famous U.S. statesman.
The Red River flows along the western edge, forming a natural boundary between the two states. Farmers here grow lots of sugar beets and other crops.
You’ll find plenty of parks and trails here. Buffalo River State Park is a local favorite. Despite its rural character, the area has a nice arts scene thanks to the colleges in Moorhead.
