Louisiana Parishes

Lincoln Parish sits in north-central Louisiana, close to Shreveport. The parish seat, Ruston, is home to Louisiana Tech University.

Livingston Parish is in southeastern Louisiana, right next door to Baton Rouge. It’s got a bit of everything… swamps, forests, and fishing.

Madison Parish sits in northeastern Louisiana, right along the Mississippi River. This rural county has a history dating back to the 1800s.

Ouachita Parish sits in northeastern Louisiana, straddling the Ouachita River. It’s home to Monroe, the parish seat and largest city.

Plaquemines Parish sits at the southeastern tip of Louisiana. It’s where the Mississippi River meets the Gulf of Mexico.

Pointe Coupee Parish sits along the winding Mississippi River in south-central Louisiana. It’s a place where history and nature intertwine.

Rapides Parish sits in the center of Louisiana, making it the heart of the state. It’s home to Alexandria, the parish seat and biggest city.

Red River Parish is up in northwest Louisiana, not far from Shreveport. The parish gets its name from the Red River, which flows through it.

Richland Parish sits in northeastern Louisiana. Bayous and creeks crisscross the land. Rayville is the biggest town and parish seat.

Right up against the Texas border, Sabine Parish sits on the western edge of Louisiana. Toledo Bend Reservoir forms the western boundary.

St. Bernard Parish is just southeast of New Orleans, hugging the Mississippi River as it winds towards the Gulf of Mexico.

St. Charles Parish sits along the Mississippi River. While Lake Pontchartrain occupies the north, Lake Salvador is in the south.
