Wyoming Counties

Southeast Wyoming is cattle country, and Platte County fits right in. Wide-open spaces and the North Platte River define this place.

Sheridan County sits at the foot of the Bighorn Mountains in north-central Wyoming. Sheridan regularly tops lists of best Western towns.

You want wilderness? Sublette County has it all day long. This chunk of western Wyoming is one of the least populated counties in the state.

Sweetwater County is the largest county in the state. The landscape here is wild and rugged, with vast stretches of high desert.

Located in the northwestern corner of the state, Teton County is home to Grand Teton National Park and part of Yellowstone.

Uinta County sits in the southwest corner of Wyoming, right up against the Utah border. It’s named after the Uinta Mountains.

The Bighorn Mountains dominate the landscape in north-central Wyoming. That’s where you’ll find Washakie County. It’s not big in size.

Weston County is perched in the northeastern corner of Wyoming. It’s where the Black Hills spill over from South Dakota.
