Wyoming Counties

Albany County sits in southeastern Wyoming, bordering Colorado. It’s home to Laramie and the University of Wyoming.

Big Horn County is on the northern edge of Wyoming. It’s a land of contrasts. Vast plains suddenly give way to towering mountains.

Campbell County occupies a chunk of northeastern Wyoming. Gillette, the county seat, is known as the “Energy Capital of the Nation”.

Carbon County sprawls across south-central Wyoming. It’s actually bigger than some states, like Rhode Island. The landscape is diverse.

Converse County is in the heart of Wyoming. It’s mostly prairie, broken up by buttes, the occasional mountain and the North Platte River.

Crook County occupies the northeastern corner of Wyoming. Ranching and timber are the main industries. Devils Tower dominates the skyline.

Fremont County is huge. It sits right in the middle of Wyoming, taking up a big chunk of the state’s west-central region.

Goshen County is in the southeastern corner of Wyoming. It’s farm country, plain and simple with fields of wheat, corn, and sugar beets.

Hot Springs County is in central Wyoming, north of Casper. You know that smell? Sulfur. That’s how you know you’re in Hot Springs County.

The Bighorn Mountains dominate the landscape in north-central Wyoming. Johnson County is cowboy country with Buffalo as the county seat.

Laramie County is Wyoming’s most populous county. It sits in the southeastern corner of the state. Cheyenne, the state capital, is here.

Lincoln County is located on the western edge of Wyoming. Kemmerer, the county seat, has a claim to fame. It’s the birthplace of J.C. Penney.

Natrona County sits right in the middle of Wyoming with mountains and prairies. It’s home to Casper, the state’s second-largest city.

Niobrara County is located in the northeastern corner of Wyoming. It’s the least populous county in the state, actually.

Park County is a piece of Wild West paradise in northwestern Wyoming. It’s bordered by Yellowstone National Park.
