Cherokee County, Georgia
Cherokee County is just north of Atlanta, it’s where the suburbs meet the North Georgia mountains. Canton is the county seat, a town that’s grown in recent years.
The county is named after the Cherokee people who once called this area home. These days, you’ve got your longtime farm families rubbing elbows with Atlanta commuters. Lake Allatoona is a great for boating and fishing. The Etowah River winds through, adding to the scenery.
Cherokee County is changing fast. New subdivisions pop up where farms used to be. But it’s holding onto its roots, too. You can still find a good country breakfast and a friendly face at the local diner.
