Chisago County, Minnesota

Just north of the Twin Cities, you’ll find Chisago County. It’s a place where lakes and forests come together. Fishing is huge here. The county’s name comes from Ojibwe words meaning “fair and lovely waters,” which fits perfectly with its abundance of pristine lakes.
Chisago City and Lindstrom are two of the main towns. But Center City is the county seat. Swedish immigrants settled this area in the 1850s, leaving a lasting cultural imprint you can still see today.
The county is very rural with just enough modern amenities to keep things interesting. Summers here are all about boating and beach days. When winter rolls in, folks break out the ice fishing gear and snowmobiles.
