Isanti County, Minnesota
Isanti County is just an hour north of the Twin Cities. It’s where the suburbs start giving way to proper Minnesota countryside. Cambridge is the county seat, a town that’s grown like crazy but still keeps its small-town vibe.
There are lots of lakes here, naturally. It’s Minnesota, after all. The Rum River snakes through the county, popular with canoeists and kayakers. Springvale County Park is a local favorite for hiking and fishing.
Isanti has some serious Scandinavian roots. You’ll see Swedish flags flying all over the place. The county fair’s a big deal every summer. Snowmobiling is huge. The fields and forests turn into a maze of groomed trails once the snow flies.
