Custer County is located in western Oklahoma. It’s named after General George Custer. Weatherford is the largest city and home to Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
The county’s landscape is diverse. You’ll see red dirt plains, rolling hills, and even some small canyons. Farming and ranching are big here. Wheat fields are everywhere.
Foss State Park has hiking, horseback riding, fishing, boating, and camping. Clinton, another major town, hosts the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum. It’s a must-visit for anyone interested in the Mother Road’s history.
