Douglas County, Colorado

Douglas Location Map Colorado

Douglas County sits between Denver and Colorado Springs, right in the heart of the Front Range. Castle Rock is the county seat, growing fast like the rest of the area. It’s one of the wealthiest counties in the country, with lots of new developments.

The eastern part is still pretty rural, with ranches and open space. Pike National Forest covers the western edge. There’s a mix of suburban sprawl and efforts to preserve the area’s cowboy heritage.

The population has boomed in recent years, now over 375,000. Traffic can be a headache with all the commuters. Despite the growth, you can still find pockets of small-town feel. The views of the mountains are great, especially around Roxborough State Park.
