Jefferson County, Colorado
Jefferson County sits just west of Denver, where the plains hit the foothills. The population is big, over 580,000. Believe it or not, it’s still growing.
Golden is the county seat and is home to the Coors brewery. Red Rocks Park is here, famous for its amphitheater and hiking trails.
The county stretches from city edges to mountain peaks. There are a lot of government jobs here, plus a good dose of outdoor industry. It feels like there’s a constant tug-of-war between development and preserving open land.
