Franklin County, Tennessee

Franklin County is down in southern Middle Tennessee. Winchester, the county seat, has a nice downtown that’s bouncing back. The University of the South, better known as Sewanee, calls this county home.
There are two massive reservoirs – Tims Ford Lake and Woods Reservoir. Boaters and anglers – take your pick. The county has some Civil War history with old fortifications. Farming’s still important here, but tourism’s becoming a bigger deal.
The fall colors are something to behold when the leaves change. Folks here are proud of their heritage but open to newcomers. It’s a place that feels like it’s on the cusp of something new. It’s where the mountains meet the valley.
