Grainger County, Tennessee

Grainger County stretches across the valleys of East Tennessee. The county’s mostly rural, with farming still playing a big role. It’s known far and wide for its tomatoes. They say the soil here gives them a special flavor.
The county has some serious history, going back to the late 1700s. Cherokee Lake, part of the TVA system, draws folks in for fishing and boating. Rutledge serves as the county seat in the center of the county.
You’ll find some great views of the Clinch Mountains from here. Winters can be cold, but spring brings a riot of wildflowers. It’s the kind of place where traditions run deep, but change is always on the horizon.
