This place breathes history. The Halifax Resolves, a precursor to the Declaration of Independence, were signed here. You can step back in time at Historic Halifax State Historic Site.

Fishing at Roanoke Rapids Lake is awesome because it’s a prime spot for bass and crappie. The county has a strong agricultural heritage. Farmers tend to grow peanuts and cotton.
