Halifax has a rich history as it was home to revolutionary war heroes and civil rights pioneers. Summers are hot and sticky. Winters can be mild, but ice storms aren’t unheard of.
The county seat is also called Halifax. It’s a charming small town with a historic courthouse. Locals are proud of their NASCAR heritage. The Virginia International Raceway is nearby. Farm life still dominates here, but new industries are starting to take root.
