Charlotte County, Virginia

Charlotte County is down in south-central Virginia. This is tobacco country. Or at least it used to be. Times change, but you can still see the old tobacco barns that are a part of the landscape.
The Staunton River runs along the western edge. Good for fishing, they say. There are also a couple of other lakes scattered throughout the county.
Red Hill, the last home of Patrick Henry, is here. You know, the “Give me liberty or give me death” guy. It’s rural. Really rural. But the people here like it that way. Quiet. Peaceful. The kind of place where you can see every star in the sky at night.
