Iberia Parish, Louisiana

Iberia Parish sits in the heart of Cajun country, along Louisiana’s southern coast. It’s broken into two chunks. Marsh Island State Wildlife Refuge is the island region out the Gulf of Mexico.
The other chunk includes New Iberia, the parish seat and other smaller communities. It’s also home to Avery Island, the birthplace of Tabasco sauce.
Shrimpers and oystermen rule the Gulf of Mexico. Despite all its charms, Iberia Parish manages to stay off the typical tourist trail. It still keeps its authentic Cajun spirit alive and kicking.
