Seminole County, Oklahoma

Seminole County is in the central area of Oklahoma. You might not expect much from a small county in east-central Oklahoma, but Seminole County has stories to tell. Back in the 1920s, this place was oil country. Black gold fever hit hard.
The oil boom is long gone, but the county’s still kicking. Seminole is the biggest town and has a neat little downtown area. It’s not fancy, but it’s got character. Wewoka is the county seat though.
The landscape is a mix of prairies and woodlands. It’s pretty in its own way. Farming’s big here now. Cattle, mostly. The Seminole Nation Museum is worth a visit if you’re into history. Tornadoes? Yeah, they happen sometimes here in Tornado Alley.
