Pontotoc County is in the south-central part of Oklahoma. Ada is the county seat and is home to East Central University. The Chickasaw Nation has its headquarters here in Ada. This adds rich Native American culture to the mix.
It’s not a huge place at all. The county has some interesting geological features, including unique gypsum formations.
If you’re into outdoor stuff, there’s plenty to do like fishing and hiking. The local economy is pretty diverse, with agriculture, manufacturing, and oil all playing a part.
