Washington Parish, Louisiana

Washington Parish sits in the eastern toe of Louisiana, right on the Mississippi border. Bogalusa and Franklinton are the main towns here, each along State Route 10.
The parish is known for its rolling hills and piney woods, a big difference from Louisiana’s typical swampy image. Bogue Chitto State Park is a local favorite. It’s perfect for camping, hiking, and tubing down the river.
Agriculture still plays a big role in the local economy. You’ll see plenty of dairy farms and plant nurseries as you drive around. Approximately 45,000 people live here.
