Winnebago County, Wisconsin

Winnebago County is located in east-central Wisconsin. Lake Winnebago dominates the eastern edge of the county. It’s huge and is the largest lake entirely within Wisconsin. Fishing is big here, especially for sturgeon.
Oshkosh, the biggest city, is famous for its air show and its overalls. Neenah and Menasha, the “twin cities of Fox Valley” have some beautiful historic neighborhoods and a thriving arts scene. Paper manufacturing put the area on the map, and it’s still a big part of the local economy.
The area has a rich Native American history, with several effigy mounds scattered around. The Wiouwash State Trail is great for biking or hiking. Ice boating on Lake Winnebago is a sight to see.
