Missouri Counties

Central Missouri is home to Osage County, a place with history and nature. Jefferson City, the state capital, sits just across the river.

Ozark County is way down in south-central Missouri, right on the Arkansas border. Gainesville serves as the county seat.

Pemiscot County is down in Missouri’s Bootheel. Caruthersville is the county seat with small-town life and a side of riverboat gambling.

Perry County is in southeast Missouri, about an hour south of St. Louis. Perryville is the county seat and has a town square with a gazebo.

Central Missouri is home to Pettis County. Sedalia is its biggest city. It’s known for hosting the Missouri State Fair every August.

Phelps County is roughly in the middle of Missouri. Rolla is the county seat and is about halfway between St. Louis and Springfield on I-44.

Pike County borders Illinois to the east with the Mississippi River forming the boundary. Bowling Green is the county seat.

Platte County is in the northwestern corner of Missouri, just north of Kansas City. It’s got a bit of everything. Cities, suburbs, farmland.

Polk County is in the heart of the Ozarks. It’s located in southwest Missouri, not too far from Springfield. Bolivar is the biggest town.

Pulaski County is roughly in the middle of Missouri. The military has a large presence here. Fort Leonard Wood dominates the county.

Putnam County is in the north-central part of Missouri, right along the Iowa border. It’s farm country with lots of rolling hills.

Ralls County is in northeast Missouri with the Mississippi River forming the eastern border. New London is the county seat.

Randolph Count is in the middle of northern Missouri. Moberly, the largest city, calls itself the “Magic City” from its railroad boom.

Ray County is nestled in the northwest part of Missouri. Richmond is the county seat, located in the south-central part of the county.

Reynolds County is tucked away in the southeastern part of Missouri, right in the heart of the Ozarks. It’s a nature lover’s paradise here.
