Pulaski County is roughly in the middle of Missouri. The military has a large presence here. Fort Leonard Wood dominates the landscape and the local economy. Soldiers train here. So do engineers and police.
The Big Piney River is a favorite spot for floating and fishing. Waynesville is the county seat. It’s small but lively. Interstate 44 cuts right through the county.
A lot of caves are in the area and some are open for tours. Ever heard of the Devil’s Elbow? It’s a wicked bend in the river, where rafts sometimes broke up.
