Perry County, Missouri

Perry County is located in southeast Missouri, about an hour south of St. Louis. The Mississippi River forms Perry County’s eastern border. Perryville is the county seat and has a town square with a gazebo.
French settlers first came to the area in the early 1700s. Now, it’s named after Oliver Hazard Perry, a naval hero from the War of 1812. Locals love the annual Mayfest celebration.
Rolling hills and farmland are throughout the county. The county has some great spots for fishing and hunting. Today, Perry County is known for its strong German heritage and delicious wineries.
