Colfax Location Map Nebraska

Colfax County sits in the eastern part of Nebraska, not too far from Omaha. It’s named after Schuyler Colfax, who was vice president under Ulysses S. Grant. Schuyler is the county seat.

The landscape here is a mix of gently rolling hills and fertile farmland. The Platte River forms the southern border of the county, offering some good fishing spots.

Agriculture is the main game in town, with corn and soybeans being the big crops. There’s a strong Czech heritage in these parts with the county fair each summer always a highlight.
