Box Butte County, Nebraska

Box Butte County sits up in the Nebraska Panhandle. It got its name from a large, flat-topped butte north of Alliance, the county seat. This place is all about wide-open spaces and big sky country.
Carhenge is a quirky replica of Stonehenge made from old cars. It’s a MUST-SEE local attraction so put it at the top of your list. You can find it near the city of Alliance.
Ranching is a big deal here so you’ll see plenty of cattle grazing on the prairie grass. The Museum of the Fur Trade is just a stone’s throw away in neighboring Dawes County. It’s worth a visit if you’re into that sort of thing.
