Fountain County is a quiet part of west-central Indiana, where the Wabash River sets the western border. The county has some surprisingly hilly areas, especially near the river.
Covington, the county seat, has a classic small-town feel with its courthouse square. There’s also Portland Arch Nature Preserve, which is ideal for hikers.
This is farm country with corn and soybean fields stretching to the horizon. You won’t find any big cities in Fountain County, just small towns with deep agricultural roots.
