Parke County, Indiana

Parke County sits in the western part of the state. Dubbed the “Covered Bridge Capital of the World,” this western Indiana county boasts 31 of these historic structures.
Rockville, the county seat, comes alive every October for the Covered Bridge Festival. But Parke County’s more than just old bridges. It’s a place where the flat farmlands of central Indiana start to get a little wrinkly.
That’s right, it has surprising hills and ravines. Turkey Run State Park has deep canyons and hemlock groves. People like canoeing on Sugar Creek and move forward at their own pace.
