LaMoure County, North Dakota

LaMoure County occupies a chunk of southeastern North Dakota. It’s bisected by the meandering James River. Fishing is popular here, especially for catfish.
The county seat shares its name as LaMoure. It’s a friendly little place. Folks say hi to strangers on the street. Memorial Park is the town’s gathering spot in summer.
County history used to come alive at the Toy Farmer Museum. Unfortunately, it’s now closed. The county has strong Scandinavian roots. But farmland is in all directions.
