Macon County, Georgia

Macon County is right in the middle of the state, about halfway between Columbus and Macon. Oglethorpe is the county seat in the south-central part of the county. The county’s roots run deep, dating back to 1837.
Agriculture is the lifeblood here. You’ll see peach orchards and peanut fields stretching for miles. The Flint River cuts through Oglethorpe and Montezuma, offering great fishing spots.
The historic Windsor Hotel in Americus, just across the county line, draws visitors from all over. Montezuma, another town in the county, hosts a popular Beaver Creek Festival every year.
